Padró & Co. Rojo Amargo Vermouth

Padró & Co. Rojo Amargo is a 750ml bitter red vermouth from Padró & Co., the family winery in Bràfim, Tarragona, that has made Catalan vermouth since 1886. It begins with an infusion of mountain herbs with small roots and aromatic flowers, rests two years in wooden barrels, then receives a second blend of native bark and roots for intensity and bitterness.

The nose is zesty ripe orange peel with cinnamon spice, balsamic clove and dried apricot, and the palate is smooth and full-bodied with fresh orange followed by a pleasant bitterness of tobacco, cinchona bark and honeyed caramel. Sip it over ice the Catalan way, or use it in a Negroni or Manhattan.
